CMS has released the base rates for hospice care in FY2007. It is a 3.4% increase which is along the lines of what everyone was hoping for and expecting.
This is only 1/2 of the formula that allows us to know what we will get paid for our work on October 1, 2006, but it is the part that effects every provider in the nation. The other half deals with exactly how much you get paid on the local level. Each year some people get hit hard in the next step, but those are much more local problems.
3.4% is a good raise.
