Why own a hospice?

Found this article on the relationship between religion and owning your own business that summed my life up well.
Owning your own small business is not about worshipping the almighty dollar. It's about being self-sufficient: taking charge of your destiny, earning a living, and providing a living for others.
I can't count the times that I've been asked why I own my own hospice. I've also seen the looks that come with someone finding out that I own my own hospice. I basically get a look that says, "Your room in hell may be warmer than most."

For me the decision to own a hospice was driven by the decision to never work for someone who didn't have the same standards that I have. My standards cost me money, and I'm fine with that. What bothers me is the assumption from most that I'm in this for the money. I know it's an easy stereotype to make, but some people don't fit the mold. I'm no saint, but I do believe that I'm in the business for the right reason.

(Now I only wish I could figure out how to market that fact without saying something like, "use my hospice, because most of the others are pieces of *$&$!)
